On Wednesday, September 1, 2021 going on from noon to 4 P.M. in the Old Gym you could schedule an appointment, sign up with Mrs. Sutton or visit obi.org. To be a part of the Bedlam Blood Battle blood drive. This was a fun way to show your collegiate team spirit while helping out those in need. Donors could receive Hemoglobin A1C blood sugar testing, which helps monitor diabetes risk! Donors also received a free treat both for their contribution as well as to ensure they were in good health before returning to their daily lives. All donors also received their choice of an OSU or OU t-shirt!
After spending a brief amount of time speaking with those at the drive we observed that the process did not take too long.We asked some brave donors how it felt to give blood and while we are sure everyone felt good to be doing their part some of the HS students claimed that the needle “hurt”. However, when we asked why they decided to donate they said, “Because it could help millions of people around the world and help doctors perform surgeries.” All in all the drive seemed to be a success and we hope everyone will remember to come back out next year!
